A pre-engineered steel building is a structural system designed and manufactured to meet the specific requirements of a project. The primary structural components are engineered in advance and fabricated to fit together during construction. This allows for an efficient building process, consistent quality, and flexibility in building design.

Steel buildings offer several advantages, including strength, durability, design flexibility, and the ability to create large, open interior spaces without numerous interior support columns. Steel is also resistant to termites, rot, and many of the issues associated with traditional wood framing. Pre-engineered components are manufactured to specific project requirements, helping streamline the construction process.

A properly designed, constructed, and maintained steel building can last for several decades. The lifespan depends on factors such as building materials, protective coatings, environmental conditions, and ongoing maintenance.

Our buildings are designed based on the applicable design criteria established by the local building department, including requirements for wind and snow loads. Customers are responsible for verifying the required design criteria with their local building department to ensure the building is designed appropriately for their specific location.

Yes. We offer several blanket insulation systems designed to help improve the energy efficiency of your building. Insulation options are available in different thicknesses to accommodate your project's needs.

Pre-engineered steel buildings are extremely versatile and can be used for a wide variety of applications, including garages, warehouses, workshops, commercial and industrial facilities, agricultural buildings, RV storage, mini-storage facilities, and barndominiums.

Absolutely. One of the biggest advantages of pre-engineered steel buildings is their flexibility. Buildings can be designed around your desired width, length, height, and overall layout to accommodate your property's needs and intended use.

We offer several roof styles, including gable, monitor, gambrel, and single-slope designs. Each style offers different aesthetic and functional options depending on your project's needs.

We offer a wide variety of exterior color options for your building. You can view the available colors and combinations by visiting the color charts on our Resources page.

Yes. We can provide framed openings for overhead doors, walk doors, windows, and other accessories. These openings can be strategically located throughout the building to accommodate your preferred layout and functionality.

Interior layouts are typically developed with the help of an architect or designer. However, we encourage customers to have an idea of how they intend to use and divide their interior space early in the design process. This allows us to consider those plans when designing the building's structural shell and accommodating the desired layout.

Yes. Office spaces, storage rooms, and other interior areas can be incorporated into your building. These layouts are typically coordinated with an architect or designer, and we can work with those plans to help ensure the building shell accommodates the intended interior configuration.

Yes. We offer blanket insulation systems featuring a white vinyl facing, available in various thicknesses to meet your building's insulation needs.

Yes. Lean-tos, porches, and covered extensions can be incorporated into your building design. These areas can be left completely open with just a roof, partially enclosed with walls on selected sides, or designed with an open common wall connecting them to the main building.

The cost of a steel building depends on several factors, including the building's design criteria, overall size, freight, and what is included in the building package. Because every project is different, we provide quotes based on the specific requirements of each building.

Several factors influence the overall cost, including building dimensions, design criteria, structural requirements, freight, and the materials and accessories included in the building package.

Our building packages generally include the engineered building components, freight, and the building kit. Depending on the building style and package, certain accessories, such as roll-up doors, may also be included.

Premo Steel does not offer in-house financing. However, many of our customers choose to work directly with their bank or financial institution to obtain financing for their project, often through a construction loan.

No. Our building packages do not include concrete, building erection, or other construction costs. However, we work with contractors who can assist with these portions of the project if needed.

Yes. We understand that building projects often evolve. Changes can be made to your building design after receiving a quote, though modifications may affect pricing and lead times.

Our building packages include the engineered building components, freight, and the building kit needed for your project.

A building kit typically includes the engineered steel building package and materials, while a turnkey project generally includes the building package, concrete work, installation, and overall project management through a general contractor. Turnkey projects can often cost approximately 30% more than purchasing the building package alone. This difference generally accounts for the general contractor's markup and the additional services included in the project.

Premo Steel specializes in supplying pre-engineered steel building packages. We do not operate as a general contractor or provide complete turnkey construction services.

Absolutely. Many customers choose to purchase their building package directly from Premo Steel and hire their own contractor for concrete work, erection, and other construction services.

No. Premo Steel supplies the engineered building package but does not provide building erection or installation services. Customers can hire their own contractor or work with contractors we can recommend.

As the building supplier, Premo Steel does not require the building permit to be issued or the concrete foundation to be completed before scheduling material delivery. However, customers should coordinate with their contractor to ensure the site is accessible and prepared to receive the building materials.

No. Your concrete foundation does not need to be completed before the building materials are delivered. Delivery can be coordinated around your project's construction schedule.

Site preparation and concrete work are the responsibility of the customer or their general contractor. These services are not included in Premo Steel's building packages.

Construction time varies depending on the building's size, design, and complexity. Some smaller buildings can be erected in as little as one day, while larger or more complex projects may take up to two weeks or longer.

Yes. Steel building construction can take place during the winter months. However, weather conditions, site accessibility, and local construction requirements may affect scheduling and progress.

Weather conditions and site-related issues can impact construction schedules. Any delays will need to be coordinated between the customer and their contractor, as Premo Steel does not perform the on-site construction work.

Yes. Engineering is included with our building packages. Red iron buildings include building engineering, while cold-formed steel buildings include both building and foundation engineering.

Permit requirements vary depending on your municipality and the intended use of the building. We recommend contacting your local building department to determine which permits and approvals are required for your specific project.

Obtaining the necessary building permits is the responsibility of the customer or their general contractor. Requirements vary by location, so customers should coordinate directly with their local building department.

Our buildings are engineered based on the applicable wind, snow, and other design criteria provided for the project. Customers are responsible for verifying the required design criteria with their local building department to ensure the building meets their location's requirements.

Yes. We can help determine the engineering requirements needed for your building and assist with incorporating the appropriate design criteria into your building package.

Building materials are typically delivered on a flatbed trailer. The customer or their contractor is responsible for arranging and providing the equipment and labor necessary to unload the materials upon delivery.

Customers are generally provided approximately two weeks' notice before their scheduled material delivery.

Yes. Someone representing the customer or contractor should be present at the time of delivery to coordinate unloading and ensure the materials are received properly.

The customer or their contractor is responsible for unloading all building materials upon delivery. Premo Steel does not provide unloading services.

To get started, we'll need a few basic details about your project, including the desired building size, your general design ideas, the jobsite location, and any accessories or additional features you're considering. The more information you can provide upfront, the better we can tailor the building package to your needs.

Once a deposit is received, we begin the engineering process for your building. After engineering is completed, the building moves into fabrication, where the components are manufactured according to the approved building design.

Our typical turnaround time for building quotes is approximately one business day.

Absolutely. We have experience working with both red iron and cold-formed steel building systems and can help determine which option is best suited for your project based on your needs, budget, and site requirements.
